If you remember, last month I was lucky enough to win a £700 voucher for Westfield in the #MyWLDreamWardrobe competition to buy my dream handbag. Off I went to Westfield in Shepherd's Bush to go on my first designer shopping spree and here are the results: my new Mulberry Hetty Hobo bag!
It's an absolutely gorgeous bag and retails at £750. The leather is amazingly soft and it's the perfect size for all the essentials, complete with a lovely little lock! It's also really practical as well as it comes with a detachable strap as well as handles.
I have to say that my designer shopping experience with Mulberry in Shepherd's Bush wasn't quite as wonderful as I'd pictured it would be. It was honestly like that scene in 'Pretty Woman'. I went in and explained that I had voucher and what bag I was after to a snooty assistant. Then I was left waiting for at least 15 minutes whilst they were "looking out the back to see whether it's in stock". I'm pretty convinced they were actually phoning the Westfield office to confirm my story rather than actually checking for stock because they'd never, ever leave any of their other customers waiting that long. Also, after they eventually brought out the first bag I'd asked for, I actually requested to see another bag which they got more or less immediately so their stock room can't be that big.
It was a rather bittersweet experience as I do love my Hetty Hobo but I've REALLY been put off designer shopping after that frankly rude treatment from the people in Mulberry. So, even if I did have the money, I don't think I'd go spending it in Mulberry again any time soon!
Are you a big designer shopper or are you a bit intimidated by them as I was made to feel?
