The good, the bad and the ugly: River Island A/W12

Hello all,

NEW FEATURE ALERT!

Despite the fact that we haven't seen a glimpse of summer yet and our pretty summer dresses are firmly at the back of the closet begging to be worn, the world still keeps turning in the fashion industry. Some companies, River Island for example, are getting all geared up for the release of their A/W 12 collections.
Urgh. Winter. What a depressing thought.

So, as and when each brand release press images of their upcoming collections, I'll be reviewing them in my new feature 'The good, the bad and the ugly'. Good title, right? Yeah it is.
There's no time like the present to get started so here's a little look what River Island have come up with in their latest collection:
There's SO MUCH, that I love in the collection but these are a few of my favourites. I especially love the gorgeous colours in the skirt and the top. I've always thought that the winter collections in general need more colour (Why is it winter has all the dull clothes? Surely we need a little colour in the winter to brighten up the dull days?) and the colouring and patterns in these pieces are so rich, vibrant and warm. There should be more like this, in my opinion!
I loved the majority of the collection but this is one of the few pieces I'm not so keen on. I'm not a fan of metallics in general and this just reminds me of the wrapping of a galaxy chocolate bar.
Mmmmm... Galaxy.
Paisley should be left on home decor, as far as I'm concerned. I'd only wear that pyjama top if I were planning on dressing up as a character from Brideshead Revisited or as Ebenezer Scrooge. Which I'm not, incidentally.

What are you favourite pieces?

    1. Thank you! Hope to do a new post on primark soon! It's more the paisley than the actual trousers that bothers me actually - they probably look pretty good on xxx
